Removing and installing wire cable/steering lock

Remove cover below left of instrument panel

Unhook wire cable/steering lock (79) by pressing in the locking tongues and at the same time pressing (arrows) against the steering lock (figure A)

Installation: Position key in steering lock in position "1"

Remove stop lamp switch

Unhook wire cable/steering lock (79) at the release lever (77)(arrow)(figure B)

Compress locking device (arrows) and at the same time push the wire cable/steering lock upwards out of the mount on the pedal bearing bracket

Remove wire cable/steering lock

Install in reverse order

Adjust wire cables for parking lock interlock

Removing wire cable/transmission

Remove cover below left of instrument panel

Pull off entrance strip upwards

Remove A-pillar footwell cover

Unscrew accelerator pedal from floor panel

Remove driver side floor lining complete

Note:  Do not fold up carpet, foamed insulating material cracks

Remove air duct for rear compartment heating

Unhook wire cable/transmission (80) at release lever (77)(arrow)(figure B)

Compress locking device (arrows) and at the same time push the wire cable/transmission upwards out of the mount on the pedal bearing bracket
