A standard TV single tuner is integrated in the COMAND controller unit.

TV signals are received over the antenna structures of the rear window and picked up by the rear window antenna amplifier module at the rear window.
The TV signals are transmitted to the TV antenna selector via high frequency (HF) lines. This antenna selector is capable of switching incoming TV
signals to the TV tuner.
With this system, the user can receive the individual television channels on the Japanese frequency band (NTSC) and watch them on the COMAND
display. Playback is then possible in stereo or mono. The audio signals are transmitted to the audio tuner control unit where they are amplified and output
over the speaker system installed in the vehicle.

A TV picture is only available when the vehicle is stationary and the parking brake is engaged. When the vehicle is moving, only acoustic playback
remains active and - for safety reasons - a warning is shown on the COMAND display.
