Crankshaft bearing cap

Crankshaft bearing cap bolt tightening sequence

Lubricate bolts (1 to 30) of crankshaft bearing cap and the crankshaft fitted bearing cap on thread and bolt head contact surface.

Tighten bolts (1 to 30) in the numbering sequence.

The arrow indicates the direction of travel.

If no torquing angle wrench is available at the final tightening stage, the bolts can be turned further using a socket wrench and locking handle all in
a single operation. Do not use a flexi-rod torque wrench for tightening in order to avoid any angle errors.

To loosen the bolts (1 to 30), proceed in reverse order.
