Low Tire Pressure Indicator: Reset Procedure

If a warning light is observed, check tire(s) and inflate to specified pressures.  Whenever tires or wheels are changed, or tire pressure has been adjusted
the system must be reactivated/reset.

Reactivate/reset procedure up to 05-31-01

Verify pressures of all four tires.

-

Turn electronic key in starter switch to position 2 (the engine must not be running).

-

Press "forward" or "back" button on the multifunction steering wheel until the display for trip and main odometer appears.

-

Press "up" or "down" arrow button repeatedly until the tire inflation pressure monitor appears.

-

Press and hold "reset" button on the instrument cluster until the message "MONITOR CURRENT TIRE PRESSURE?" appears. Release the "R"
button.

-

Press and hold button "R" on the instrument cluster again until the message "TIRE PRESS. CONTROL ACTIVATED!" Appears.

-

The tire inflation pressure monitor is now activated and monitors the presently selected tire pressures for all four wheels on the ground.

Repeat above steps if the multifunction display shows the message "TIRE PRESS. CONTROL - REACTIVATE!"

A malfunction display showing the message "TIRE PRESSURE - CHECK TIRES!" indicates a much too low tire inflation pressure.  Check and
correct tire inflation pressure again on all wheels, and repeat the tire inflation pressure monitor activation steps listed above.

Reactivate/reset procedure after 05-31-01

Verify pressures of all four tires.

Turn electronic key in starter switch to position 2 (the engine must not be running).

Press "forward" or "back" button on the multifunction steering wheel until the display for trip and main odometer appears.

Press "up" or "down" arrow button repeatedly until the tire inflation pressure monitor appears.

Press and hold "reset" button on the instrument cluster until the message "MONITOR CURRENT TIRE PRESSURE?" appears. Release the "R"
button.

Press button "+" ("YES") on the multifunction steering wheel to activate the tire inflation pressure monitor.  The message "TIRE PRESS.
MONITOR - ACTIVATED!" - "PRESS. DISPLAY AFTER DRIVING A FEW MINS." appears in the multifunction display.

The tire inflation pressure monitor is now activated and monitors the presently selected tire pressures  for all four wheels on the ground.

Press button "-" ("NO") on the multifunction steering wheel to cancel the activation.

Repeat above steps if the multifunction display shows the message "REACTIVATE - TIRE PRESS. MONITOR!"
