Air Register: Description and Operation

Fresh Air Inlet

The fresh air required for ventilation flows through the air inlet from the vent slots in the engine hood to the fresh air flap. Any water entrained is
collected in the water collector and drained to the outside through the water drain.

Front Footwell Air Outlet

The front footwell air outlet serves for ventilation of the left and right front footwell.

The air supply to the front footwell air outlet (arrows) can be opened and closed with the pushbutton control module. The flow direction of the air exiting
from the front footwell air outlet on the driver's side can be adjusted manually.

Blended air exits from the front footwell air outlet.

In the heating mode with the interior temperature set the air exiting into the footwell is significantly higher than that exiting along the windshield.

Rear Footwell Air Outlet

        
The rear footwell air outlet serves for ventilation of the rear footwell.

The air supply to the rear footwell air outlet can be opened and closed with the pushbutton control module.
There is not separate adjustment possibility. Blended air exits from the rear footwell air outlet.
When the rear air conditioning is switched on, the air flows from the rear A/C housing to the rear footwell air outlet.
