On models with Acceleration Slip Regulation (ASR), using collet chuck tool No. 140 589 00 34 00 and puller 001 589 50 33 00, or
equivalent, remove grooved ball bearing if required 

8. Using a suitable pry bar, press out radial seal rings (32)
9. Remove and discard rear axle breather (55)

INSTALLATION

Install in reverse order, noting the following information:
-

Replace axle to connecting flange self-locking bolts with internal serrations or hexagon socket bolts and washers.

Lightly lubricate bolt thread and bolt head support.

Replace self-locking nut (62b) 

-

Clean end cover sealing surface and coat with Hylomar sealing compound part No. 001 989 25 20, or equivalent

If removed press on deep grooved ball bearing (33c) using a suitable tube (033c)

Replace end cover collared bolts (56b)

-

Replace locking ring (30)
