d. On all axles, using a 6.8 mm drill, drill core bore the to a depth of (a in illustration) approx. 20 mm, cooling and lubricating the drill in the
process.
e. Using suitable tapping tools, cut 8 mm thread using a stage 1 and 2 tap.
f.
Unscrew drilling fixture (039) from rear axle shaft and clamp rear axle shaft in a vise.
g. Finish tap 8 mm thread using a stage 3 tap.

Mounting of camber strut, torque strut thrust arm, track rod and spring link on wheel carrier
-
The rear axle shaft must be horizontal when tightening the nuts.

Check toe-in at rear axle
-
Adjust if necessary
-
Torque strut and track rod
-
Clean grease off ball pin and tapered seat in wheel carrier

Press ball pin firmly into taper seat and steady with an Allen wrench if necessary.

Tighten the following components as noted:

Self-locking nut for attaching stabilizer bar connecting rod to stabilizer bar: 40 Nm

Self-locking nut for attaching stabilizer bar connecting rod to wheel carrier: 40 Nm
-
Self-locking nut, spring link to wheel carrier: 120 Nm
-
Self-locking nut, camber strut to wheel carrier: 70 Nm
-
Self-locking nut, torque strut to wheel carrier: 70 Nm
-
Self-locking nut, track rod to wheel carrier:
Colored yellow: 30 Nm
Colored silver or blue: 25 Nm

Self-locking nut, thrust arm to wheel carrier: 70 Nm
-
Twelve point collared nut, rear axle shaft to rear axle shaft flange: 320 Nm
