Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

Replace Fuel Filter

Shown On Model 220.176

Remove/Install and replacing

DANGER:

-

Lethal injuries are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform

-

Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by
the vehicle manufacturer.

-

Risk of explosion from fuel igniting, risk of poisoning from inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin from
contact with fuel.

-

Fire, sparks, open flames or smoking forbidden.

-

Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

-

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Release pressure in fuel tank

NOTE:  For this step open fuel filler flap (1) and filler cap (2) and reseal.

Remove cover (3) of fuse pump assembly

NOTE:  Installation: Install cover (3) only after check for leaks.

Pinch-off fuel hoses (4)

NOTE:  Installation: Inspect condition of fuel hoses (4) and hose clamps, replace if necessary. Only use hose clamps mentioned in the electronic
power control.

Clamp: See Special Tools below.

-

Clamping pliers: See Commercially Available Tools below.

Disconnect fuel hoses (4) at fuel filter (5)

NOTE:  Collect fuel which flows out.
