Fuel Rail: Service and Repair

Remove, Install Fuel Rail With Injectors (ME-SFI)

Removing, installing

DANGER:

-

Risk of explosion from fuel igniting, risk of poisoning from enhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin from
contact with fuel.
-

No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.

-

Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

-

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Remove air cleaner (1)

Remove electronic accelerator pedal actuator (M16/1)

Remove ECI mains unit (N91)

Unplug connector of electrical connection of right camshaft adjustment valve (Y49/2)

Detach hose (2) of crankcase ventilation at right cylinder head and separate at coupling (arrow)

Detach vacuum lines at switchover valves (Y32/1) and (Y32/2)

NOTE:
-

Unclip switchover valves (Y32/1) and (Y32/2) at bracket (3) and unplug connector (arrow) of electrical connection

Release fuel pressure through service valve (1/1)

NOTE:  Collect fuel.

Detach fuel feed line (17/2) at fuel rail (17)

NOTE:  Collect fuel.

-

Fuel feed line to fuel rail = 38 Nm
