- Generation of the ignition voltage (ac voltage) for each spark plug by means of oscillating circuits. 
- Execute the ignition angle, spark period control, ignition offset and ignition change according to the signals from the ME control unit 
- Detect the ion current signals, filter and transfer the evaluation to the ME control unit
