Navigation processor
The complete navigation function is carried out in the COMAND controller unit. A hard disk is installed for this purpose. Moreover, a Global
Positioning System (GPS) receiver and a turn rate sensor are integrated.
The GPS receiver serves as a reception unit for the satellite signals. The task of the turn rate sensor is to recognize changes in direction (e.g. when
cornering).
DVD and DVD ROM drive
The COMAND controller unit is equipped with an integrated DVD ROM disk drive that can be used to play audio and video CDs, audio and video
DVDs and navigation media. It is also possible to play audio data in MP3 format.
DVD changer
The audio functions can be extended by using an additional DVD changer (with code (814) DVD changer) integrated in the COMAND controller unit.
