Design

The stationary heater transmitter essentially consists of a radio transmitter, two-way radio receiver and subsequent displays and controls:

Task

The stationary heater transmitter can:

^

switch the stationary heater (STH) on and off

^

set/activate/deactivate the departure time

^

call up the stationary heater operating condition

Model 221:

The telephone antenna (A2/49a1) receives the radio signal and routes it via the telephone/portable CTEL/STH radio remote control antenna splitter
(A2/53) (only for code (386) Preinstallation for telephone "Handy", UPCI system or code (388) Telephone "Handy", UPCI system) to the STH radio
remote control receiver (A6/1). From there the request is forwarded to the STH or HB control unit (A6n1).

Model 216:

The stationary heater antenna (Telestart) (A2/27) receives the radio signal and forwards it to the stationary heater receiver. From there the request is
forwarded to the STH control unit (A6n1).

The STH transmitter has a max. range of approx. 300 m (depending on the environment).

Call up/set/activate departure times

Departure times can be called up, changed, activated or deactivated. All changes are stored in the STH control unit and are thus also available to the
COMAND controller unit (A40/3).

Call up departure times

A single press of one of the arrow buttons on the stationary heater transmitter shows the operating condition shown of the stationary heater on the
display. Pressing the "right" arrow button again causes the first of three optional departure times to be shown. Another press shows the second departure
time and another press shows the third departure time.
Departure times are only shown in the stationary heater transmitter, not stored. Therefore, the display function requires constant communication with the
STH control unit.

Set departure time

To call up the set mode, the ON and OFF buttons have to be pressed simultaneously within a period of approx. 0.7 s. When the set mode is activated, the
clock symbol flashes on and off in the display.
The set procedure is performed using the arrow buttons. To accept the new time setting, the ON and OFF buttons have to again be pressed
simultaneously within a period of approx. 0.7 s.
If there is no wireless connection to the vehicle at the time of acceptance attempt, the new time setting is discarded.
