Component Identification

Location

The vehicle-sensitive belt lock sensor is located at the inner left longitudinal member in the vicinity of the B-pillar.

Task

The vehicle-sensitive belt lock sensor monitors the current acceleration and tilt of the vehicle using a tilting cone sensor. The vehicle-sensitive belt lock
sensor transmits a permanent signal for detecting faults in the left front seat belt lock relay (K18/2) and the right front seat belt lock relay (K18/3)
actuation circuits.

The fault is transmitted via the left front seat control unit (N32/1) or the right front seat control unit (N32/2) to the instrument cluster (A1).

Scope of tasks

If the threshold values of the vehicle-sensitive belt lock sensor are exceeded, the seat belts are prevented from extending by:

the left front seat control unit via the left front seat belt lock relay

the right front seat control unit via the right front seat belt lock relay
