Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

Removal
NOTE: Refer to Notes On Brake Booster. See: Description and Operation
1. Operate the brake pedal several times until vacuum in the brake booster is reduced.
CAUTION:

Seal of diaphragm travel sensor may be sucked into the brake booster if vacuum present.

If this is the case the brake booster has to be replaced.
2. Unplug connector of BAS diaphragm travel sensor (A7/7x1)
3. Remove circlip (16b)

Use a suitable tool, e.g. angled marking tool (arrow)
4. Pull out BAS diaphragm travel sensor (A7/7b1).
5. Replace O-ring.
Installation
6. Install in the reverse order, noting the following:

Insert O-ring in brake booster groove and pay attention to correct seat.
