Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury with caustic
burns to eyes and skin from battery electrolyte or from handling damaged lead-acid batteries

No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.

Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and eye protection Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Disconnect ground cable of battery

2.1 Remove control and display system with control module

With Code (352a) COMAND operating and display system

2.2 Remove radio

-

Except Code (352a) COMAND operating and display system

Remove shelf below radio

Except Code (352a) COMAND operating and display system

Remove lower section of instrument panel

NOTE:  Passenger side

Remove cover below instrument panel

NOTE:  Passenger side

Remove center console air duct

Push suspension (4) to one side

8

Unscrew bolts (1a, 1b)

NOTE:  Three bolts

Remove right footwell flap actuator motor (M2/11)

10 Detach coupling (3)
11 Install in the reverse order
12 Normalize right footwell flap actuator motor (M2/11)
13 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase
14 Perform basic programming.
