Removing And Installing Evaporator Housing

Illustrated On Model 210

DANGER:

-

Risk of explosion from welding or brazing work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning from inhaling overheated refrigerant
vapors. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with liquid refrigerant.

-

Do not carry out any welding work on the closed air conditioning system or in the surrounding area. No smoking or naked flames. Wear
eye protection and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas.

Do not carry out repair work on the circuit of the air conditioning system unless the system is drained.

Drain air conditioning (recycle)

CAUTION:  When charging air conditioning, add quantity of compressor oil removed previously to refrigerant circuit.

NOTE:  Installation:  Air conditioning evacuate, charge, check for leakage.

Remove expansion valve

NOTE:  Plug openings (parts kit).

DANGER:
-

Risk of injury to skin and eyes from scalding with hot coolant which splashes out. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degrees C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour
coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

Drain coolant

NOTE:  Installation:  Pour in coolant.

Remove heater housing

Separate evaporator temperature sensor connector B10/6x1

Install in opposite order

DANGER:
-

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury from bruises and burns if you hold your hand
into engine when it is started or when it is running.

-

Secure vehicle to prevent it moving off by itself.

-

Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes. Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Switch on air conditioning and allow engine to idle for approx. 4 minutes

NOTE:  Turn temperature dials to catch in blue field or set automatic control to "LO" Blower to max.

Check air conditioning for proper function

NOTE:  The air outlet temperature at the center nozzle should not be below + 5 degrees C, if necessary replace evaporator temperature sensor
(B10/6).
