Reason for block

Complaint:

Poor paint adhesion/paint peeling on trunk lid

Cause:

Coating flaws at the supplier of the trunk lid on paints with anthracite-colored filler coat.

Paint-codes: 040, 189, 197, 300, 345, 357, 359, 544, 768, 816 

VIN number range: 209.4.. .F 201048 - 209.4.. .F 203902.

Remedy:

In the event of customer complaints the trunk lid must be replaced.

1. Remove/install trunk lid as described in AR88.50-P-5000QA

2. Paint trunk lid in accordance with the specifications of the paint supplier concerned
