Climate Control Exhaust Gas Sensor: Service and Repair

AR83.40-P-6730Q Remove/Install Multifunction Sensor

- with CODE (581b) Convenience automatic air conditioning

DANGER:

-

Risk of injury by trapping or crushing, in extreme cases with loss of limbs when working on wiper mechanism

-

Always remove ignition key when working on wiper mechanism

Risk of explosion from electrolytic gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury with
caustic burns to eyes and skin from battery electrolyte or from handling damaged lead-acid batteries

No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.

-

Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and eye protection. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Disconnect ground cable of battery

Open engine hood

Unscrew screw (4)

Remove C-AAC [K-KLA] multifunction sensor (B31) from water collector (3).

NOTE:  Bend bracket (5) back slightly.

Coupling of multifunction sensor, Disconnect C-AAC (B31)

Install in the reverse order

Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase

8

Perform basic programming.
