Unscrew bolts of propeller shaft intermediate bearing (7)

NOTE:  Installation: mount propeller shaft intermediate bearing

Pull propeller shaft (1, 2) off centering pin at transmission and at rear axle center assembly and remove from the back

NOTE:  Installation: Fill cavities of both centering sleeves with multi-purpose grease

Detach front and rear propeller shaft from slide connection

NOTE:
-

Only if necessary.

-

Installation: Coat splined shaft profile with Molykote grease.

Check flexible couplings, centering sleeves and propeller shaft intermediate bearing (7) for wear

NOTE:  Replace if necessary:  Remove/install propeller shaft intermediate bearing and replace grooved ball bearing

Check centering sleeves for wear

NOTE:  Replace if necessary, Install new centering sleeve

Check flexible coupling of front propeller shaft for wear

Check flexible coupling of rear propeller shaft for wear

Install in the reverse order

DANGER:

-

Risk of fatal accident if the vehicle slips off the lifting platform

-

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points
specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove propeller shaft

Mark flexible coupling (12) relative to three-arm flange (1) and detach

NOTE:  Check flexible coupling (12) for damage and replace if necessary.

CAUTION:  Replace nut (14), washer (13) and bolt (11).

Loosen fitted sleeves in flexible couplings.

Separate front and rear propeller shafts at slide connection

NOTE:  Installation: Coat splined profile with Molykote grease.
