The left digit of the number combination "000" flashes and the code can be set. Turn the manual tuning knob to the right for each digit. Numbers
set in this manner can be entered by momentarily pressing the automatic button and the next digit to the right starts flashing. After entry of the
third number the first digit of the code starts flashing again.

NOTE:  This allows the code to be entered as frequently as desired, e.g. to correct incorrect entries.

After entering the desired number combination, press the automatic button and hold down until storage of the code number in the memory is
confirmed by a "C" on the display. The code number then appears on the display for approx. 4 seconds as a check. The radio then switches over
to radio mode.

Switching on coded radio after an interruption to the power supply

The word "Code" appears on the display when the radio is switched on. Enter the correct numbers for the code one after another to operate the
radio. The numbers for each position can be set by turning the manual tuning knob to the right. Enter the set number by pressing the automatic
button. The radio then automatically switches to the next position which can then be entered.

NOTE:  When the manual tuning knob is actuated for the first time the word "Code" disappears and the momentarily selected number appears in
the left code position. The two code positions not yet entered are marked with dashes "--".

After entering the third number the visible number combination is compared with the code number stored internally and the radio switches over
immediately to radio mode if the number combination is identical with the code number stored internally.

If the entry is incorrect the word "Code" reappears and the number combination can be entered again. After entering the incorrect code three
times, entry is inhibited for 15 minutes unless the radio has been switched off or completely separated from the power supply. During this fifteen
minute waiting time the word "Code" appears on the display and operation is not possible. After expiration of the waiting time a new attempt can
be made to enter the code as described in step 4. If an incorrect code is entered nine times in a row the radio is no longer operational. This is
indicated by four dashes "----" on the display. In this case it is necessary to return the radio to the manufacturer for reactivation.

Recoding an existing code number

Switch on radio. Press automatic button immediately after switching on radio within 8 seconds. Hold automatic button depressed for approx. 8
seconds until the word "Code" appears on the display. Then release the automatic button.

NOTE:  During the retaining time the display behaves in the same manner as during the station search function.

It is then necessary for the user to authorize himself by entering the previous code. Entry can be accomplished as described in step 7. However,
with the difference that after entering the third digit, the first digit of the number combination flashes when the correct code has been entered. If
the entry is incorrect a new code is not requested. The radio immediately returns to radio mode. After three incorrect entries a 15 minute waiting
time starts here as well, unless the radio is switched off or completely disconnected from the power supply.

The new number combination can be entered as described in steps 2 and 3.
If the combination "000 " is entered, the radio is not coded and can be operated without entering a code after disconnecting and reconnecting the
power supply.

NOTE:  A CODE CARD is included with the radio on which the radio model and serial number are printed. Space is provided for entering a
personal code number in the free field "SAFETY NO. ". Since the CODE CARD can also be used as proof of ownership, it should always be kept
outside of the vehicle in a safe place. This eliminates the possibility of unauthorized use.

Coding Radio - V

1. If the radio is disconnected from the power supply it is not ready for operation when reconnected. After switching on the ignition and the radio the

word "CODE" appears on the display and the letter "C" flashes.

NOTE:  The five-digit code number for this radio is printed on the CODE CARD which you were given.

2. Enter the code number with station buttons, e.g. number 1, station button 1.
3. After entering the first digit the word "CODE" disappears and the digit entered is displayed followed by 4 dashes. The next digit to be entered

flashes. After all 5 digits are entered, the first digit flashes again. In this state the code number can be written over repeatedly. A correction can be
made only by reentering the entire code number.

4. Confirming the code number:

Press seek-UP/seek-DOWN or SCAN button. The radio switches on automatically and displays the station or frequency stored for station button 1.

5. If the wrong code number has been entered and confirmed, the word "CODE" appears on the display again. After the code has been entered three

times incorrectly the word "WAIT" appears on the display and the radio is disabled for approx. 10 min.

NOTE:  The waiting time continues to run only when the radio is switched on.

6. After expiration of the waiting time the word "CODE" appears on the display again and the correct code number can be entered.
