Engine Mount: Service and Repair

Removing and Installing Engine Mount

Remove engine compartment panel

Unscrew bolts (5) of engine mounts (3) at front axle carrier

Remove engine trim panel
NOTE: The air cleaner is integrated in the engine trim panel.

Pull engine trim panel off the cylinder head covers by lifting vertically up.

Disconnect ground cable of battery, connect
NOTE: Only necessary if removing the right-hand engine mount.

Installation: After connecting, read fault memory, encode radio and normalize power windows.

Models with stationary heater: set time of stationary heater.

Remove viscous fan (1)
NOTE: Right-hand thread.

Remove mass air flow sensor with air intake Pipe

Fit on engine supporting frame

Raise engine
CAUTION: Ensure that the rear of the engine does not touch the body.

Do not overtension coolant hoses.

Unscrew bolts (2) of engine mounts (3) at engine supporting bracket

Remove shields (4)

Installation: The recesses in the shields should be located in the anti-twist locks of the engine supporting brackets

Remove engine mounts (3)
CAUTION: Installation: The anti-twist locks (arrows) at the engine mounts (5) should be located in the retaining slots (arrows) of the
engine supporting brackets.
