CHECKING/ACTIVATING OIL LEVEL SENSING IN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
In some cases, on subject vehicles within the effective serial number range, it may not be possible to perform the engine oil level check function with a
resulting text display (1, 3, Figure 1) in the instrument cluster when pressing the Multi-Function Steering Wheel push buttons.
Using the Star Diagnosis System (SDS) please inspect these affected vehicles during the next service visit for proper function of the engine oil level
check via the Multi-Function Steering Wheel push-buttons (refer to owner's manual for procedure).
Please review the Effective Serial Number Range table shown.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign, please check VMI to insure the vehicle is involved and to determine if the vehicle has been previously
repaired.

CHECKING/ACTIVATION PROCEDURE
1.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign, please review the following documents in WIS: GF00.20-P-0003D, GF00.20-P-0003-02A, and
GF82.90-P-3001A.
2.
Connect Star Diagnosis System (SDS) to the vehicle.
3.
Start DAS and select vehicle model (208.374) in DAS menu.
4.
Using the path "control units/information and communication/ICM-instrument cluster/control unit adaptations/standard version coding", select
"engine type"
5.
Set the engine type to "M113 AMG 5.5L" and transfer the coding into the control unit (F3).
6.
Exit program and disconnect SDS from vehicle.
