Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture during repair work

In the event of malfunctions to the air conditioning, resulting from leakage, contamination or icing up always install new receiver/drier
(3) when replacing or repairing A/C compressor.

Drain air conditioning (recycle), evacuate, charge, check for leakage
CAUTION: Add quantity of compressor oil evacuated to refrigeration circuit when charging air conditioning.

Disconnect refrigerant pressure sensor connector (B12)

Unscrew refrigerant pressure sensor (B12)
NOTE:
-
On model 202 as of September 1995, 208, 210 with automatic air conditioning, also unscrew refrigerant temperature sensor (B12/1)

Installation: When installing moisten thread with compressor oil.

Disconnect lines (1 and 2) from receiver/drier

Lines on receiver/drier: 17 N.m
NOTE:

Plug openings (parts kit)

Installation: When installing lines, moisten threads with compressor oil.

Unscrew screws (arrows)

Remove receiver/drier (3)

On vehicles with code 480 level control position oil supply reservoir to side

Loosen damping strap (4) with retaining lugs and pull off

Reinstall in opposite order.
NOTE: Observe quantity of oil to be added when replacing receiver/drier.

Additional oil filling capacity when replacing receiver/drier: 10 cu.cm

Switch on air conditioning and allow it to idle for approx. 4 minutes
NOTE: Set temperature dials to blue or automatic air conditioning to "LO" Blower to max.

Check air conditioning for proper function
NOTE: Air outlet temperature at center nozzle should not drop below + 5 degrees C, if necessary Perform diagnosis accordingly.

Find leaky point in air conditioning circuit.
