Convertible Top Hydraulic Cylinder: Service and Repair

Remove inner paneling from soft top compartment cover (1)

Open cable strap (2)

Secure soft top compartment cover against slamming shut unintentionally

Press off lock plates (3) and pull out hydraulic lines (4)

CAUTION:  Immediately plug hydraulic lines with plugs, plug connections on hydraulic cylinder with blind plug

Plug No. -07, Blind Plug No. -01 : See "Special Tools" given below.

Remove upper and lower retainer (5) from hydraulic cylinder

NOTE:  Turn retainer and pull out upward or downward

Remove hydraulic cylinder (6) from spherical bolt (7) at top and at bottom

Install in the reverse order

Bleed soft top system
