Crankshaft: Service and Repair

Remove engine

Detach automatic transmission from engine

Detach top part of oil pan
4
Remove oil pump
NOTE: Push back chain tensioner for this step and take off chain.

Detach belt pulley/vibration damper

Detach flywheel/driven plate

Take off end cover

Take off timing case cover

Remove connecting rod bearing cap (16)
NOTE:
-
While rotating the crankshaft ensure that the connecting rods (11) do not get jammed.

Mark connecting rod (11) and connecting rod bearing cap (16) on one side to each other for this step.

Unbolt crankshaft bearing caps
NOTE: Pay attention to slackening diagram.

Carefully pry out the crankshaft bearing caps (410) and the fitted bearing (5).
NOTE: Before removing mark the crankshaft bearing caps (4,10) and fitted bearing (5).
