Component Identification

Location

The GPS box control unit (N41/6) is integrated in the luggage compartment on a bracket behind the rear bench.

Task

The GPS box control unit (N41/6) receives the Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates. It directly transmits these data via a serial bus to the
navigation processor in the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) for processing. The GPS box control unit (N41/6) obtains all
vehicle-specific data (wheel speed, direction of travel) from the central gateway control unit (N93) via the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior)
(CAN-B).
