Component Identification

Location

The trunk lid power closing unit is located in the rear center section.

Task

The power closing unit is responsible for completely closing the trunk lid.

Function

The striker eye in the trunk lid power closing unit can be pivoted. The gear is driven by the power closing drive motor.
The specific end positions (upper and lower end position) are determined by the power closing "closed" limit switch and the power closing "open" limit
switch.
The TLC control unit takes over actuation of the power closing drive motor and evaluation of the power locking switch.

When the trunk lid is open, the locking eye is pivoted to the upper end position.
When the trunk lid is moved in the "closing" direction with the remote trunk closing (RTC) function, the locking eye moves to the upper end position.
After the locking eye arrests in the rotary catch, it is pivoted to the upper end position.
This closes the trunk lid completely.
