- When a door is opened

Night signal from rain/light sensor

Door contact ON and OFF switch in ON position.

Function

The opening of one of the doors is detected by the rear SAM control unit via the relevant door contact switch and the overhead control panel is notified
thereof via the CAN-B.

Footwell lighting

When one of the doors is opened, the overhead control panel transmits an appropriate switch-on request to the driver-side SAM control unit via CAN-B,
which switches on the relevant footwell lamp.
When the door is opened, the relevant footwell lamp is switched off after 5 min by the overhead control panel.
The operating time is extended or restarted if a status change occurs at a door contact switch for longer than 3 seconds or the vehicle is locked or
unlocked using the transmitter key (A8/1).
When the vehicle door is closed, the relevant footwell lamp is switched off.
