Only those functions that are actually installed in the vehicle are displayed:

Display of the selected system is done in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1).
Additionally, the left fanfare horn (H2) and the right fanfare horn (H2/1) are actuated via the impact plate of the multifunction steering wheel (MFL).

In the event of a change to another system, the start screen of the selected system is displayed and not the submenu last selected in this system.

Task Left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110)

In system selection button (S110s3) and Scroll forward and backward buttons (S110s1) are included in the left multifunction steering wheel button group
(S110).
Each of the systems can be called with the system selection button (S110s3). One can "scroll" either forwards or backwards from system to system.
Within a system the scroll forward/back button (S110s1) can be used to "scroll", i.e. submenus can be called up.

Task Right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111)

The right-hand button group for the multifunction steering wheel (S111) contains the button for accepting and terminating a telephone call (S111s3), and
the + and - buttons, which are used to set specific functions and for the volume control (S111s1). A telephone call can be accepted or terminated using
the accept/ terminate phone call button (S111s3).

The volume for the system currently active can be adjusted with the + and - buttons for adjustment of specific functions and volume control (S111s1). In
addition, for example, in the "Settings" menu, the OFF delay time of the interior light can be extended (+) or shortened (-).

Transfer of signals

The signals are read in via the local interconnect network (LIN) bus of the steering column module (N80) and sent to the Controller Area Network bus
Class B (interior) (CAN-B).

Steering wheel gear shift

The left steering wheel gear shifter (S110/2) and right steering wheel gear shifter (S111/2) can be used for the following functions:

Preselection of shift range.

Shifting into a gear from which the vehicle can be favorably accelerated or decelerated.

Direct shifting of all forward gears.

Transferring shift signals

The left steering wheel gear shifter (S110/2) and right steering wheel gear shifter (S111/2) are read in via the LIN bus from the steering column module
(N80). The steering column module (N80) places the "upshift" or "downshift" signal on the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment)
(CAN-C). The ETC control unit (N15/3) receives the signal and induces the gear shift.

Gear shifts which would lead to unacceptably high or low engine speeds are not carried out.
