Displaying Indicator/Warning Messages

Shown On Instrument Cluster During Bulb Check

Left and right turn signal indicator lamps (A1e1, A1e2) <f>.
These are actuated differently depending on the function:

-

Only one of the indicator lamps is always actuated for direction flashing
The signal to actuate the lamp comes from the light module (N7-1) via a discrete line.
If one of the turn signal lamps fails the indicator lamps are actuated at double frequency by the light module (N7-1).

Both indicator lamps are actuated by light module (N7-1) for warning flashing

-

Both indicator lamps are actuated by light module (N7-1) for ATA flashing

-

Both indicator lamps are actuated by light module (N7-1) for special function flashing

NOTE:  Whilst direction flashing is only possible when terminal 15 is ON, other types of flashing are possible with terminal 15 OFF. The audible
turn signal indicator (A1h2) sounds in parallel with the flashing frequency.

High beam indicator lamp (A1e3)

This lamp is actuated by the light module (N7-1).

Fuel reserve indicator lamp (A1e4)

This indicator lamp comes on as soon as the reserve range is reached. It is actuated in close conjunction with the fuel level gauge (A1p2).

Low brake fluid level and parking brake indicator lamp (A1e7)

This lamp is actuated if the parking brake is not released while driving or the minimum brake fluid level is not reached.

The signal for actuating the lamp comes

-

discrete from the brake fluid level switch (S11) for low brake fluid level

-

from the traction Systems control module (N47) via the CAN/engine compartment for the <f> parking brake indicator.

Seat belt reminder lamp (A1e9)

This indicator lamp is not available for all national variants. It comes on when the driver's seat belt buckle is not inserted when the engine is running. In
addition a warning tone sounds on many national variants.
The signal for actuating the lamp comes directly from the seat belt buckle switch.

Airbag indicator and warning lamp (A1e15)

This lamp is actuated when there is a fault in the supplemental restraint system (SRS).
