Air Bag Control Module: Application and ID
With the introduction of side airbags, a modified control unit as well as two additional side airbag sensors for recognition of the lateral acceleration are
installed on the crossmember below the front seat.
Changes to the SRS Control Module:

50-pole connector

The SRS light goes out immediately when the following faults are no longer present:

Low voltage
-
Belt Buckle
-
SRS MIL (bulb check)

Erroneous communication with side airbag sensors

Passenger seat occupancy recognition switch (production start-up June 1995)

ETR activation during rear end collision
-
Crash output for control of other systems, e.g. emergency call systems (presently not used [as of 1996])
