Engine Oil Pressure: Testing and Inspection

Remove/Install
DANGER:

Lethal injuries are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform

Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by
the vehicle manufacturer.

Unclip cover at face end of engine

Model 211, 220
2.1 Remove engine trim panel or cleaner

Except Model 170.466, 203.065/265, 211.061/065/070, 230.467/474/475
NOTE: Detach engine cover or air cleaner by lifting vertically up and off the cylinder head covers.
2.2 Remove air cleaner housing

Remove fan shroud (9) together with electric fan (8)

Except Model 209, 211.061/065/070, 230.475
NOTE: Model 163: Unscrew bolts at bottom of fan shroud (9).

Remove screw plug (4) together with seal (5) at timing case
NOTE: Installation: Install new seal in order to avoid oil loss.

Connect oil-pressure manometer (1) to connecting pipe (2) on timing case
Inspecting

Inspect engine oil level, adjust to correct level if necessary

Connect remote thermometer (6)
NOTE: Guide temperature sensor through the dipstick guide tube into the engine oil.
DANGER:
