1.1 Open supply reservoir cap (30g) and extract oil from power steering pump supply reservoir
1.2 Disconnect feed line from reservoir

Unscrew high-pressure expansion hose (30i) from power steering pump
NOTE: On vehicles with tandem pump the tester must not be connected to the pressure oil pump for the Adaptive Damping System (ADS) with
level control (Code 216b).

Attach connecting fitting (038a) to high-pressure expansion hose (30i).
NOTE:
-
Special tool 210 589 09 63 00 was replaced by special tool 215 589 01 63 00

For carrying out the test, both special tools can be used.

Attach connecting fitting (038b) to power steering pump

Connect tester (039) between connecting fittings (038a, 038b).

Remove clamp from feed line from reservoir

Fill supply reservoir Check and correct power steering fluid level
DANGER:

Risk of accident from the vehicle starting off by itself when the engine is running. Risk of injury from bruises and burns if you hold
you hand into engine when it is started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it moving off.

Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes.
-
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Start engine

Increase engine speed to approx. 1000 rpm

Close throttle valve (039a) and check the maximum operating pressure
CAUTION: Perform the test quickly to prevent the oil temperature from rising too high.

Switch off engine
12.1 Extract oil from power steering pump supply reservoir
12.2 Disconnect feed line from reservoir

Disconnect tester (039)

Check O-ring on high-pressure expansion hose (30i) and replace if necessary

Screw high pressure stretch hose (30i) onto power steering pump

Remove clamp from feed line from reservoir

Filling and bleeding power steering pump
18
Inspect power-steering pump for leaks
