GF07.04-P-6110TJ Component Description For The Catalytic Converter Temperature Sensor

- with CODE (498) Japan version

Component Identification

Location

The temperature sensor downstream of the catalytic converter is located on the oxidation catalytic converter on the top.

Task

The temperature sensor downstream of the catalytic converter detects the current exhaust temperature upstream of the oxidation catalytic converter and
sends an appropriate signal to the CDI control unit (N3/9).

Design

The temperature sensor downstream of the catalytic converter consists of a metal housing with a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) precision resistor
and a 2-pin plug connector.

Function

The PTC precision resistor integrated in the temperature sensor downstream of the catalytic converter changes its electrical resistance according to the
exhaust temperature. Electrical resistance increases as temperature increases.
