Exhaust Temperature Sensor: Description and Operation
GF07.04-P-6111T Diesel Particulate Filter Temperature Sensor, Component Description
GF07.04-P-6111T Diesel Particulate Filter Temperature Sensor, Component Description
- with CODE (474) Particulate filter
Component Identification
Location
The temperature sensor upstream of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) is located on the underfloor.
Task
The temperature sensor upstream of the diesel particulate filter determines the current exhaust gas temperature downstream of the oxidation catalytic
converter (upstream of DPF).
Design
The temperature sensor downstream of the diesel particulate filter consists of a metal case with a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) resistor and a
2-pin plug connection.
Function
The install NTC resistor alters its electrical resistance according to the exhaust gas temperature and transmits a corresponding voltage signal to the CDI
control unit (N3/9).
NTC means that the electrical resistance is reduced as the temperature increases.
