Operation of the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) on the multifunction steering wheel

With the aid of the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110), the right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) and the
multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1), the following systems that are controlled via the MOST ring can be operated and system
information can be displayed:

All the data is exchanged between the instrument cluster (A1) and the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) via the Media Oriented
Systems Transport (MOST) and the CAN interior (CAN-B).

All button operations on the multifunction steering wheel are Voltage-coded steering column module (N80) read-in and placed on the CAN interior
(CAN-B). The instrument cluster (A1) detects the coded messages and initiates, via the multifunction display (A1p13), the presentation of the system
which is currently active or operated (audio, navigation, telephone) in the instrument cluster (A1).

In parallel with this, the audio gateway control module (N93/1) picks up the commands for controlling the functions within the MOST system, converts
these into light pulses and with them actuates the necessary system components.

The instrument cluster (A1) receives the current time from the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3), since it is automatically received
vie GPS and therefore does not have to be adjusted.
