Checking Supporting Joint and Follower Joint Of Steering Knuckle Bearing (Removed)

Remove

Remove steering knuckle

NOTE:  Do not remove front wheel hub.

Remove upper transverse control arm

Inspect

Move the ball pin in all directions with an approximately 150 mm long pipe

NOTE:  The ball pin should move without play and without seizing, and should not cause any grinding noises.

Check supporting joint boot (7f) and follower joint boot (8f) of joints for cracks and damage.

If the boot does not seal properly then replace the supporting joint or upper transverse control arm.
