Activating the MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group (S93/6) causes an SMS to be automatically transmitted to the Service Center. The
following data is automatically transmitted in a roadside assistance call:

The service is activated by the user by operating the MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group (S93/6). When the service has been authorized and
no service with a higher priority is active, the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) transmits an SMS to the Service Center. The following data is
transmitted in the SMS:

After a TELE AID emergency call has been triggered, an emergency call telegram is generated by the telecommunications control unit (N112) and then
relayed via cell phone (D-net) to the company Tegaron. Then a radio connection (voice connection) is completed to the vehicle.
In the case of an emergency call, the telecommunications control unit (N112) has the sole control of the telephone system to ensure the following:

If the telephone is switched off before the actuation, it must be activated

An existing telephone connection is interrupted.

The cell phone connection is established over the telephone system with the aid of the telephone antenna (A2/49a1) (MODEL 211.0) or the telephone
antenna (A2/22) (MODEL 211.2). If the telephone antenna (A2/22) (MODEL 211.2) or the telephone antenna (A2/49a1) (MODEL 211.0) is no longer
functional as the result of a defect, then the telecommunications control unit (N112) automatically switches to the emergency call system left backup
antenna (A2/54) and emergency call system right backup antenna (A2/55).
At Tegaron, the location of the vehicle and vehicle status is determined from the information in the emergency call telegram. The necessary steps can be
clarified by phone with the Mercedes- Benz experts.

The emergency call system must be authorized to transmit an emergency call telegram.

In the event of an emergency call, all active telephone connections and active service calls (MB information calls or roadside assistance calls) are
interrupted. The emergency call system control unit (N123/4) transmits an emergency call telegram to the nearest emergency call center, and, at the same
time, it establishes a telephone connection to the emergency call center. If the emergency call was started automatically and the connection to the
emergency call center was not possible, a telephone connection is automatically established to the police emergency phone number "911". In this case,
no emergency call data are transmitted. The emergency call data must then be communicated verbally. This process can be configured for manual calls.

The emergency call system must be authorized to transmit an emergency call telegram.

Usually, the telephone connections are established via the telephone antenna (A2/49a1) (model 211.0) or the telephone antenna (A2/22) (model 211.2)
(up to 30.6.06) or the telephone antenna (A2/49a1) (as of 1.7.06), which is located on the roof. If one of these antennas is defective, e.g. in the event of a
rollover, 2 emergency antennas are available in the rear bumper of the vehicle, which primarily consist of the emergency call system antenna splitter
