GF42.50-P-4000-04S Traction system hydraulic unit, function

A7/3 The switching components of the vehicle dynamics control systems SBC, ABS, ASR and ESP are combined in the traction system hydraulic unit.

High-pressure charging pump (A7/3m1)

The self-priming high-pressure charging pump (ml) integrated in the SBC hydraulic unit (A7/3) charges the pressure reservoir (3) with 160 bar.

Pressure reservoir (3)

The pressure reservoir supplies the pressure required for braking and control.

Left and right front dividing pistons (7 and 8)

The dividing pistons separate the control circuit from the hydraulic circuit for the limp-home mode.

Inlet and outlet control valves (A7/3y6-y13)

One control valve is used for pressure control at each wheel for each of the functions pressure buildup/hold and pressure hold/reduction when braking
and in the SBC, ABS, ASR and ESP control modes.

The inlet control valves (A7/3y6, y8, y10, y12) are also designed as pressure limiting valves and open when the pressure is > 190 bar.

Separation valves (A7/3y18 and y19)

The separation valves (y1 and y2) are open when de-energized. When the driver presses the brake pedal, they shutoff the control circuit from the
operating unit.

If the electro hydraulic brake fails, the opened valves form a hydraulic connection to the brake pedal.

Balance valves (A7/3y3 and y4)

Balance valves (y3, y4) are open during normal brake application when the vehicle is moving straight ahead. These valves equalize the pressure
between the left and right wheel. If the driver applies the brake while cornering, the valves are closed to allow the brake to be applied individually at
each wheel.

Front axle pre-pressure sensor (A7/3b1)

This sensor records the pressure produced by the driver at the brake pedal.

Reservoir pressure sensor (A7/3b2)

Records the pressure existing in the pressure reservoir.

Left front, right front, left rear, right rear pressure sensors (A7/3b3, b4, b59 b6)

Indicate the respective brake pressure at the individual brake calipers.
