Retrofit of the engine coolant preheater

Warning!

To help protect against the possibility of personal injury please note following.

Do not open the cooling system unless the coolant temperature is well below 90°C (194°F).

Open the cap slowly to allow the pressure to release. Hot fluid/steam from hot cooling system may cause severe burns.

Do not pour coolant into drink containers or containers used for other purposes.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothes, and eye protection.

Any waste coolant must be disposed of properly.

Note:

Special Tools W124 589 24 21 00 and W124 589 00 91 00 as shown are required and should already be in your Special Tool Inventory.

1.

Remove lower engine covers and noise encapsulation (See WIS: AR94.30-P-5300T).

2.

Drain coolant from radiator. Drain coolant from engine block by removing drain plug on the left side of engine block (See WIS:
AR20.00-P-1142HB).
