a)

Release lock on connector for driver seat connector block (X55/3) and front passenger connector block (X55/4), (Figure 1, arrow) and disconnect
coupling (Figure 1, 1).

b)

Release lock on plug (Figure 1, 2) to the side upwards.

c)

Cut electrical wires approximately 10 mm in front of and behind connector.

d)

Carefully remove approximately 50 mm fabric tape.

e)

Strip approximately 15 mm of insulation from the electrical wires.

f)

Slide solder connector onto electrical wires.

g)

Twist bared electrical wires with wire ends from repair kit.

h)

Position solder connection in center of twisted wires and shrink with heat gun (solder).

Utilize wiring harness repair set 220 589 02 99 00 and heat gun 458-HL1802E via the MBUSA Standard Service Equipment Program.

i)

Check solder connections.

j)

Wrap fabric tape around electrical wires on both sides.

k)

Fasten repair kit (Figure 1, 3) to housing with tie strap

l)

Delete fault memory with STAR DIAGNOSIS.

m)

Install in the reverse order.

Remove contacts from Micro Quadlock System plug. Refer to WIS document AR00.19-P-0120-03A.
