SBC or Battery State Fault Message Displayed in Instrument Cluster

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that a SBC or battery state fault message appears in the instrument cluster, the cause may be
the result of damage to the engine or interior compartment wiring harness in the area of the auxiliary battery (G1/1). To remedy, perform the following.

1.

Check the engine / interior wiring harness underneath the auxiliary battery area (Figure 1, circle) for damage. Refer to WIS document
AR54.10-P-0007T.

2.

If the engine compartment wiring harness is damaged, replace the harness. Refer to EPC net for specific part number per model.

3.

If the interior compartment wiring harness is damaged, repair as per the repair method described in WIS document AR00.19-P-0100A.

Note:

The interior compartment wiring harness contains the supply line for the auxiliary battery relay.

4.

After completing the replacement or repair of the wiring harness, glue felt to the body as shown in the circled area of Figure 1.
