Changed repair method, upper ball joint on upper control arm of front axle
During warranty inspection of returned upper flange ball joints that are bolted to the upper control arm (B, Figure 2); it has been determined that
the complete upper control arms with the flange upper ball joints (B) are still being replaced as an assembly (and returned to warranty inspection).
Therefore, please do not remove the upper control arm when replacing the bolted-on flange ball joints (version B) since this ball joint can be
replaced separately from the upper control arm.
Note:
Models without flange (replaceable) ball joints (A, Figure 1) are listed below:
Model 211 up to production 02/2003 and model 230 up to production 04/2003 with one-piece control arm without a bolted-on upper ball joint.
