AR27.60-P-0990T Remove/Install and Set Shift Rod

Remove/Install

Danger:

-

Lethal injuries are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform

-

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points
specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

NOTE:

-

The vehicle must be horizontal

-

Park vehicle on two or four-column lift platform or over inspection pit.

Move selector lever to position "D".

Remove bottom section of soundproofing capsule

NOTE:  Only rear part.

Unclip locking plate (1a) and detach shift rod (2) at range selector lever (3).

NOTE:  Use a screwdriver to release plates.

Remove locking plate (1) and detach shift rod (2) at intermediate lever (4).

NOTE:  Remove locking plate from shift rod by pulling vertically downwards with needle nose pliers.

Take out shift rod (2).

Inspecting

Inspect locking plates (1a, 1b) and bushes (5).

NOTE:  Inspect for wear and deformation, if necessary: Install new locking plates and bushes.

Install in the reverse order

Adjusting

Unscrew grub screw (6) from rod head (7).

Move selector lever and range selector lever (3) into position "D".
