Remove/Install

Remove propeller shaft

Separate front and rear half of propeller shaft (1, 2) at the sliding connection

CAUTION:  Installation:  Coat splined shaft profile with Molykote grease.

Detach boot (4) from front half of propeller shaft (1)

CAUTION:  Installation:  Replace damaged boot, paying attention to the correct seating.

Pull off rubber mount (7b) with grooved ball bearing (8)

NOTE:  Installation:  Press rubber mount with grooved ball bearing onto joint fork.

Press deep-groove ball bearing (8) out of rubber mount (7b) of propeller shaft

Inspect

Check boot (4), rubber mount (7b) and grooved ball bearing (8)

Check for wear and if there is a complaint replace defective parts.

Install in the reverse order.
