BAS CONTROL MODULE INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT

The brake assist (BAS) malfunction warning indicator may illuminate on vehicles within the effective serial number ranges if the driver applies the brake
and accelerator pedals simultaneously. In this case, illumination of the BAS malfunction warning indicator does not reflect a brake system malfunction
nor does it affect the system's operation other than the light illumination. To prevent the BAS malfunction warning indicator from illuminating
unnecessarily as a result of simultaneous brake and accelerator pedal application, the BAS control module must be inspected and replaced. Please note
that a vehicle with an illuminated BAS malfunction warning indicator should, in all cases, be brought to a Mercedes-Benz Center for inspection and
repair, as may be required, as soon as possible.

Following is the inspection and replacement procedure for the BAS control module to correct the unnecessary illumination of the BAS malfunction
warning indicator as described above Please perform this Service Campaign during the vehicle's next scheduled service visit.
