Interference Noise from Loudspeakers and Poor Sound in Surround Mode Only

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the audio system having the following symptoms, perform the procedure below to resolve.

Poor or interference noises from loudspeakers

^

Poor sound while in Logic7 Mode in all audio sources

^

Detected especially when the Fader is applied to "Rear"

Note:

Customer must provide CD and specify track number to the Service Advisor to aid in diagnosis of the symptom.

Procedure to Verify the software condition:

1.

Insert an audio CD

2.

Select Surround Sound Mode "Logic7", as soon as the interference noise is detected

3.

Switch to a different sound mode, e.g.: "Standard"

4.

Go back in the CD track to the point where the interference noise was audible

5.

If the interference noise is no longer audible, check version of the Sahara chips

6.

If the interference still persists, contact Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for additional assistance.

Note:

The Audio Gateway (AGW) Software 28/03 and Sahara version "6034ME30" and higher will resolve the above conditions. Follow the below
steps to obtain the AGW Sahara version.

Check the version of the AGW Sahara using the steps outlined below:

Select the control module

Select Control Units

^

Select Information and communication

^

Select Audio, video, navigation and telematics

^

Select AGW-Audio Gateway ( MOST network management, diagnosis gateway, radio tuner)

^

Select the control unit

If the AGW Sahara version is earlier than E30 (6034ME30), replace the AGW with a new or remanufactured part. If the AGW Sahara version is
later than E30 (6034ME320), update the AGW software as per DTB P-B-82.85/325c dated July 28, 2004.
