General determinations on actuator motor and flap controls
Continuous positioning of the flaps.
So that the actuator motors do not run continuously in the control range, the following release function is implemented in the automatic air conditioning
system for every flap.
Clearance function: Once a position has been set, the specified blower air temperature for example must change sufficiently by the next change for the
clearance value above or below it to be undershot or overshot.
Final values are approached directly (0 %, 100 %).
Anti-fogging function
The anti-fogging function prevents the windshield and side windows from becoming fogged up after starting the engine thank to the fact that moist air is
not guided directly against the windows after starting, but instead into the footwell of the vehicle.
Solar roof function (on model 211.0 with code (419) solar module for panoramic roof)
'The actuator motors are driven to the following position after 2 minutes and outside temperatures greater 10 °C:
-
center nozzle 100 % open
-
activated charcoal filter flap OFF (fresh air)
Afterwards the AAC control and operating module (N22) shuts down.
For
-
automatic and manual flap operation
-
with ignition OFF or REST OFF or stationary heater OFF
the following procedure applies:
The actuator motors are driven into the following positions after 2 minutes:
-
footwell flaps open
-
defroster flaps closed
-
recirculated air flap closed
-
center air outlet stops in the last valid setting.
For
Ignition ON:
up to 30 seconds after engine ON
REST ON:
60 seconds starting with the request
Stationary heater ON:
60 seconds starting with the request
the following procedure applies:
-
footwell flaps open
-
defroster flaps closed
-
center nozzle automatic according to specification
-
recirculated air flap immediately operable (including automatic recirculated air)
After these times have elapsed, the flap states for the automatic or manual setting apply
Center outlet flap actuator motor (M2/22)
The center outlet flap actuator motor (M2/22) actuates the air flaps for controlling the air flow to the center nozzles.
Depending upon the desired air outlet temperature at the center nozzle, the center outlet flap actuator motor (M2/22) is actuated via the AAC control and
operating module (N22) and the AC bus.
Actuation at "defrost"
footwell flaps 0 % (closed)
Actuation with "REST"
according to regulation
Actuation with stationary
heater as per the control (if fitted)
Actuation at "0"
previous position retained
Actuation with ignition OFF
previous position retained
Automatic air flap control
