Evaporator Core: Removal and Replacement

AR83.30-P-5540T Remove/Install Evaporator

Remove heat exchanger

Unscrew screw (3)

Detach clamps (2) and remove evaporator housing cover (4)

Undo screws from expansion valve (5) and remove expansion valve

NOTE:  Installation:  Install new sealing rings and moisten thread with compressor oil.

Bolt on expansion valve:  8 N.m

Remove retaining plate (7) and seal boot (6).

NOTE:  Installation:  Note installation position of retaining plate (7) and seal boot (6).

Remove the evaporator (1).

NOTE:  Installation:  If evaporator (1) has been replaced, add additional compressor oil quantity when filling air conditioning system.

Additional oil filling capacity when replacing evaporator:  40 cu.cm
For Refrigerant compressor 7SEU16C.

Install in the reverse order.
