Acoustic Confirmation Signal While Arming/Disarming Anti-theft Alarm (ATA)

The following procedure may not be claimed as a warrantable item.

The above Model Year 2005 vehicles may have a factory setting for the new acoustic lock and unlock confirmation signal feature enabled. If you
encounter customer reports, you can find an explanation of this feature on page 102 of the Owners Manual (211 584 65 96 USA Edition C). STAR
Diagnosis as of version 10/04 includes a menu option to disable this feature, based on customer preference only.

If a new spare part rear SAM control unit (N10/2) is installed in older model year 211 vehicles, the same condition may apply.

Note:

DO NOT change any parts to disable this feature.

1.

Using STAR Diagnosis, enter the following menu: Control Units --> Body --> Rear SAM --> Control Unit Adaptation --> Read Coding and
Change if Necessary.

2.

Enter menu for National Version of the ATA function and set coding to USA without Buzzer".

3.

Carry out transferring coding to the cluster.

4.

Verify proper ATA operation by locking and unlocking vehicle with the remote key. There should no longer be an acoustic signal confirmation.
